MADEIRA ISLANDS TO OFFER FREE PCR TEST TO ALL VISITORS ON DEPARTURE (OR ARRIVAL)

Madeira offers one free PCR Covid-19 test per visitor, to be taken on arrival or departure (results in 24 hours) and discounted rates for any further tests required
New ‘Green Corridor’ for inbound travellers – no testing required for those with vaccination certificate or proof of recovery within 90 days

The green corridor already existed at Madeira airport for those who arrive with a negative PCR test done within 72 hours. Alternatively, visitors can take a free test at the airport on arrival. One free PCR test per visitor is offered, to be taken on arrival or departure, with results in 24 hours. There are also discounts on offer for any further tests required, with PCR tests from €90 and antigen tests from €18.

PCR swab tests can be taken at testing centres only by appointment free of charge. There are seven test centres which are located in Pembroke, Ħal-Farruġ, Mater Dei Hospital, Qormi, Burmarrad, Boffa Hospital and Xewkija, Gozo. Boffa Hospital is providing rapid antigen testing only. Rapid antigen testing is also being provided at the testing centre in Gozo.
To book a PCR swab test visitors can call the Public Health Helpline on 111 or +356 21324086 if calling from a British or Irish number. The operators will take note of their personal details and they will be given an appointment to take the test closest to their place of stay.
Alternatively, visitors can register online for a swab test by going to https://covidtest.gov.mt and completing an online form. They will be called back from the Public Health Helpline on the mobile or landline number which they provided and they will be given an appointment for a PCR swab test. Online applicants will be required to provide and verify a valid email address. The result of the PCR swab test will be sent to the email address provided soon after it is issued.
All Guests staying at a Louis hotel in Cyprus during summer 21, will receive a free PCR test on hotel premises before departure, which will be fully subsidised by Louis Hotels. This applies to adult customers staying a minimum of 7 nights and for as long as the UK government requests a PCR or Rapid test upon their return.
Clients staying for a shorter period will also benefit from the facility to have their test on hotel premises at a lower rate than the current market price.
